Web resource for public speaking

Bryan Kelly of whatthespeak.com has compiled over 60 (and counting) podcasts with an impressive list of people discussing various topics related to public speaking.

These podcasts would be a great addition to an online class or as additional “reading” assignments in a traditional class.

Some of the topics that would be great for college students in a basic course are how to use stories and examples in a speech (podcasts 08 and 61), using humor in a speech (podcasts 50 and 53), and dealing with speech anxiety (podcast 38).

Several other topics are more specialized and would interest students of marketing, design, social media, and other areas. Each podcast includes a written brief biography of the person being interviewed as well as their speaking challenges and best advice.

About teachingpublicspeaking

I believe public speaking can go from most dreaded class to favorite class. I'm a former public speaking college instructor who spent years seeking out activities, assignments and examples to make the class interactive as well as educational -- they are collected here. I welcome suggestions for additions.
